Well, actually, I'm a regular visitor of Cartoon Brew, a website with animation news and editorials.  A few days ago, coinciding with the release of Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks, an article was posted titled The One Thing That No Cartoon Creator Can Control.  The article criticizes Ross Bagdasarian Jr. and Janice Karman for not crediting the franchise's creator, Ross Bagdasarian Sr., for the new series.  I thought that was unfair, since Ross and Janice have always paid tribute to him and credited him as the Chipmunks' creator.  Furthermore, I figured it was obvious that Janice Karman only created Alvinnn!!!, and not the franchise as a whole.
